Well I am fucked!
Moved to Woosh as they were advertising a plan were you pay $49.95 a month unlimited access. Then a week later (still not connected) checked my account to find that they put a cap of 11Gb a month, so conecerned with that call them and was told not to worry becuase you signed up with Woosh before we changed that you wouldn't be capped. Yippyy I thought. In the same time I asked them about my connection and talked to 3 different people eventually was told that they couldn't connect me until I contacted Telecom and cancel my exiting go large plan. So I did, call Telescum (opps sorry Telecom) and spoke again with about 5 different people and eventually manage to get the ADSL account cancelled, then call back Woosh to let them know and they told me that I shouldn't never done that, as they supposed to do it. However becuase it was their mistake they will offered me 1st month free and to recoonected within a week rather than 2 weeks. Well the week is today. Just call them again and was told that still not joy!!! WTF???? I've been without DSL for over a week already which is bloody annoying, as one becomes quite deppend it on it for bills payment, checking banks stuff and some lessiure. Pretty annoyed right now!!! I guess I just have to put up with it! Oh yeah forgot to mentioned that they don't offered wireless in my area (North Shore) so I am with the wired (quicksilver guys I guess). I should of stay with Telecom!!!! Like I had for the last 10 years!!

Cost Vs Benefit analysis needed.

Exactly I thought of that. $49.95 for unlimited access. Which sounds ideal specially hence not one else seems to be offering any plans that remotely looked like that for that price.

I'm still waiting for my QSI international traffic to resume normal speeds. According to a helpful tech support guy the problem should have been sorted out by last Thursday but still no dice yet

Apparently it's been fixed but my international speeds are still terrible and a different tech support guy tried to explain what a speed test is to me

QSI issues started Monday last week. I gave them a days grace, called them on Tues when it was still fucked and they said they're working on it. Called them on Wednesday and was told "Yeah there is a problem but it's a holiday, we don't work holidays"... Called them on Thursday and was told Friday, called them on Saturday was told Monday...
If it's still fucked when I get home tonight i'm asking for the last months DSL charges back. |

They've actually been quite helpful over the past four or five days, calling up to give me updates. Apparently they are thinking it is Telecom's fault, which doesn't really explain why the problem cropped up 3 weeks ago out of nowhere.

Quicksilver/Woosh => Extremely poor service!!!
I'm on the $49.95 unlimited data plan with Quickie. Last month they charged me with extra $5. I've tried to contact them since last Friday, Saturday and this morning to find out why. Each time I called, I waited 15mins+ and all I get is "thankyou for your patience, our rep will answer your call shortly and etc." Come on Woosh/Quicksilver!!! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! VERY POOR SERVICE!!! ....I'm still trying to get hold of them... |

Are you on the "unlimited" plan ($49.95 I think it was) or a capped plan ?
If youre on a capped plan, then thats why you wouldnt have got it. Have speeds/pings improved there yet ? They should have, everyone else has left QSI so youve got the network to yourself |

Does your dsl router(or whatever unit) allow vpn passthrough? I had to specifically enable that on my netgear to allow vpn into work. |

well it worked fine (well it was about a month ago) hadnt tried it again till this week (at 3am no less) and it didnt work, tried to work laptop and all sorts of carp, turned off my firewall, all i can think of now is that they are doing something to the ports it runs on which kills it... because the vpn definately works on my other home connection (not where i stay when im working)
