Cool.
Will give it a go. I actually downloaded it and didn't try it yet because I figured the VOB would be bigger. Anyways I'm hoping someone here may have a solution to playing xvid/dix files that don't play on PS3. For example. I have downloaded some HD 720p perhaps AC3 .avi files. Says unsupported when you try to play on PS3 opposed to corrupted. Anways, I want to convert these files to a compressed format like Divx or Xvid and not lose any quality. Not too worried if I lose AC3 though. I have tried Super and something else I forget. Neither resultant file worked. Anyone have a step by step link or anything that they can confirm works. I've tried some step by steps on google without joy. Fortunately it seems most if not all new rips take the PS3 into mind and seem to work ok. It is just older stuff that is poo. |

What's the main difference between this and something using like AllToAvi to convert to DivX? Better quality I assume?

Converting compressed video to any other compressed format fucks the quality.
This just repackages it in a way that's acceptable to the PS3, while leaving the video and audio alone. |

ive been using ps3 video 9 for my mkv files.. for a single tv ep it usually takes about 10 mins to convert.. the final file is mp4 video with mp3 audio.. it doesn't touch the video, just converts the audio then stitches them back together..
seems to work pretty well for me.. |
