When you orginally posted this I'd have agreed with you on Winston. Now however I'd put $5 on him loosing his seat. This latest move of his reeks of deparation, whether Bob the Builder is guilty of propositioning this woman 4 years ago or not is irrelevant, I believe this will have lost Winston Tauranga.

Most interesting seats in this election are definately Tauranga and Epsom.

Rodney Hyde just phoned me up for a chat. He says he's gonna win Epsom. I hung up on him... he could have at least asked me how my day was.

Who gave Rodney the North Shore directory?

Thank you Steve Maharey for articulating everything wrong with Labour. In this week's newsletter where he is detailing what is wrong with National, he complains:

It wants a future where people make their own decisions about their own money

How dare people want to "make their own decisions about their own money".

LOL, as in he spoke to you personally or you got the recorded message?

If it was actually him, you could've taken the time to rub in just how desperate he is for votes and how Act is basically going to implode after the elections and it's all because they rolled Prebble. That would've been good for a laugh.

It was a recorded message ... at least I think it was.. I dropped the phone as I picked up and fumbled around before saying hello, and that is when he started so he may well have been the real deal.... dunno why he's even bothering with the shore, pre-recorded or not.. seems like a lost venture... maybe the answer was in the message he had for me.

Wow. A person with the idealogical view of the Right criticizing the idealogical view of the Left.

I think the country is on the brink of civil war!

Oh.

Can you write me a theme song? It can be something like

CCS!
He'll spit in your eye and punch your cunt!
CCS!
He'll rob the charity ice cream truck!
He's that much of a bastard, he'd poke you in the eyes,
a crimefighting superstar and robot in disguise!

I dunno, something like that anyway. They're making a cartoon about me and I need some music. I'm also a hero in a half shell.

What I meant to say is that I like it but my only concern is that it sounds a bit like "he'll poke you in the ass". Although that isn't so far from the truth...

Anyways, maybe you can change that in the hard rockin electric guitar reprise.

Some betting place in Australia has it quite close. Somebody just put 50k on National to win, so it's almost neck and neck now. I don't know the exact odds, just heard this on the news tonight.

according to an ACT flyer some ACT dude just gave me, part of ACT's policy is to remove minimim wage rates

7. Repeal The Employment Relations Act 2001. Abolish all minimum wage laws....
now that can only make sense if you want people to be exploited

im pretty sure ACT supports the min $12 wage, which must be what they mean when they say "abolish current laws"

and as for the results, hopefully those that want a labour government will vote strategically, preventing a nat. lead government. (ie, vote greens if you feel so inclined else labour)

Quote:
Wigram: Labour needs Anderton to win his seat so give him your electorate vote. But his Progressive Party isn't rating more than 0.5 per cent, so any party vote for his party is wasted. Give it to either Labour or the Greens.

Tauranga: Winston will back Brash if he gets back and National gets more votes. Even if he backs Labour he'll stop any progressive policy being advanced. If Winston loses the seat and NZ First goes under 5 per cent in the party vote, then Winston and all his MPs go down. Therefore, you hold your nose and give your electorate vote to the National candidate so Winston loses Tauranga.

Epsom: If Hide can't win this seat then Act is finished. Labour needs to let their supporters tactically vote for Richard Worth.

Ohariu-Belmont: Dunne is safe here, but if he has no other MPs after the election then he will be able to be ignored. Don't vote for United Future as they will go with National if they can.

Te Tai Haururu: Tariana Turia is safe here. Current polling suggests the Maori Party can nationally get only one or two MPs off their party list, but given that they will win four electorates, at least, all their party votes will be wasted. The Maori Party will not support National and recent polls show that Labour may well need the Maori Party. Maori seat voters should give their electorate vote to the Maori Party electorate candidate. That way the Maori Party will win all seven seats and lock Brash out of government. Maori voters should give their party vote to the Greens. after all, if the Greens get back they will be in government. Having an ally around the cabinet table would be a good thing.

If the left votes strategically then they should win, even it it's tight. Right-wingers should look to Deborah Coddington or Bob Jones for advice. After all, that’s their job.

Matt McCarten
