I give up for tonight.

Highest I got was:

Bone MAX
Water MAX
Ball 1
Dish MAX
Seeds MAX
Vase MAX
Tube 4
Spring MAX
Man MAX
Fire MAX

NOTES I MADE, DON'T READ IF YOU WANT TO FIGURE THEM OUT YOURSELF

A stronger fire will mean two vines can drop down instead of one.
Fire means they can explore the cube.
The Ball looks to always be last... it just sits in the tube.
The Dish seems to serve no purpose, I think the Tube may need to link up somewhere.
I always seem to start with Man, Water, Seeds.

Had it right except for the tube - wasn't adding it soon enough as I thought the seeds had to be near fully grown before you could put it on the trees.
