Basically there is a specific region in the brain that when abnormal/damaged causes religious belief (mild or extreme) depending on the severity of the defect. Even if this is true, it doesn't follow logically that everyone who has a religious belief has brain damage in that region. The psychology of suggestion and the psychology of religion are both pretty deep, and don't rely on brain damage for suggestions/"truth" to be accepted.

Like me? I was only proposing a hypothetical. I have meaning and believe there is a point to existence. I was trying to get an understanding of why an atheist would care about how anyone lives their lives, when eventually everything will be destroyed anyway without any point or purpose.
