NZG Photocomp #5 - Movement

The new photo competition theme is - Movement/Motion/Action.

And for all you who might say "Sweet, my 5D mkII takes HD videos!", the theme is to be expressed with a single still photograph.

Same rules as before: minimal post-processing, image must be taken within the submission period, EXIF available on request etc etc.

Deadline for submissions is Monday 6th April.

No photochopping, just as it is.

Was that taken in the 2 hours since this thread was started? Or is there not that much concern about the time period anymore? (I didn't get into the moist thread much)

It was taken earlier that day (2-ish?) when I was getting pictures off my camera (it had run out of battery power, hence the reset calendar date), then my cat walked in and I thought that I should take a picture of her for my facebook profile but she wouldn't sit still :P

Or is it... The perfect crime!...

Hmm... 2-ish would be before the topic was set, so technically would still be considered shoe-boxing... as you didn't deliberately take the photograph with the theme in mind.

But whatevs, I'll just go with what the majority feel about it.

Getting in early:

This is my Great Gandfather's Elgin pocket-watch that he got from Duntilland Colliery in Scotland in 1913. It's inscribed "The Duchess Nina Ambulance Competition - First". None of our family know the story... but I'm really happy being its caretaker now.

Purely scaled down to 25%. Was a good day for the dragon boat racing, especially with the cloud cover giving nice soft light.
