computer talks?
Hey everyone,
Just thought I would share this with ya'll Last night my younger sister was using the computer and was on the net looking through all her Harry Potter sites (she is 9). The room she was in was all quiet while she put all her concentration into her favourite novel characters web pages when suddenly a young girls voice came through the computer saying "I can hear you". Unfortunately I was out at that time to see or hear this, but my parents told me that she went c-r-a-z-y! As you could imagine, an unexpected voice coming through the computer would have been pretty terrifying for young girl but... I knew exactly how she would've been feeling cause it happened to be not so long ago. I cant remember the site I was in, but it was the same environment with everything quiet, and all of a sudden a voice came through saying "psst, I'm over here" and it continued to do that about 1 minute after each other about 5 times. I have to admit, I was pretty terrified, but I think that was because I was under the influence of a certain substance and it was late at nite. I am thinking that it is some smart-ass web page designers who put it in the script to put these voices over at particular time after the page has been opened. What are your thoughts?? Has anyone else had this happen to them? Last edited by m3t3or : 2nd June 2002 at 12:03. |

Late at night...
Reminds me of 10 years (no, more than that) ago, when I was on a BBS late at night, and suddenly a couple of ASCII animated pirates start swashbuckling across the screen. I was quite pissed, and thought WTF, then paniced and thought I must have DL'd a virus, only to find out the next day that the old man had loaded on some TSR that randomly plays an ASCII animation when you are online.

i remeber back in old days, putting a wav in the autoexec.bat to get our sister who always used to bash the keys, put in a wav file to say "ouch that hurts, please dont hit the keys so hard", she got big fright was funny as. sorta backfired though because she wanted to demonstrate to everyone else in the house the sound happening again. figured she wasnt hitting keys hard enough so out came the full fists onto the keyboard

theres 1 on some adult websites, says theres this super secret porn site, and if you press 'p' or 'f' or some silly key on your keyboard youll be taken too it... amazing what sites have it... funnily enough 1st time i found such a site, it wasnt a porn site, i was at SIT (poly in Invercargill) and had sound on and one of the IT guys was replacing a toner cartridge on a lazer printer...
he came over and had a look at the site i was in, which wasnt anything to do with porn or warez... |
