I don't know much about politics, but the way I see it is that Labour is trying to make everybody in to an average income thing by "taking from the rich and giving it to the poor".
You can see this in petrol tax, income tax, this tax, that tax. Since when you seen a real communist country taking off? Even China is getting less commy as days goes by. National on the other hand gets my vote, less taxing, so the "fulla G bro au" down the road in South Auckland don't just sit on their ass and getting money that you and I work very hard for, so he can buy his point of methamphetamine hydrocholride. Other parties don't really matter. The Greens are a joke, they should just quit their MP jobs or whatever they are doing and go live in the Amazon. They seem to be more interested in converting everyone to be hippies than actually running a country. The govt right now is too rich. Don't talk about free health care coz it isn't. Primary and secondary schools are not free. Roads are paid from our huge petrol tax ($1.52/litre anyone?), Rego ($230? x about 2 million cars each year?), and our roads are still SHIT. Radio stations survive on advertising, TV ain't free, the NZ police is really good..... at catching people speeding. so Fidget, get a clue. Last edited by Akane : 13th August 2005 at 14:07. |

Labour/Labour (Tim Barnet is my MP, and a bloody good one imo)
I make a pretty fair amount of money too, but a bit more cash in my hand is not worth what we as a country would end up paying for it Last edited by MoP : 13th August 2005 at 17:34. |

Facts weigh down your "no grip" imagination eh Akane? I suppose it's hard to do your mean drifting when you're worrying about trying to remember figures and constantly having to justify your way of thinking to nay-sayers. Just show them the way by burning some rubber in their faces next time Labour's own Police force tries to capture and talk some sense into you eh? National has a much better police force waiting... in a cupboard somewhere...under some old leaky stairs. Hell, National will be drifting with you, they're so cool and lax like that.

so you in no way want to justify or defend your racist, unresearched opinions. That's your choice. You may think being racist is ok where you come from. But frankly it gets on my tits when you start categorizing people below yourself based on their skin colour.
I think I'll change my vote to Winston if it grants him the power to boot out a bunch of immigrants and families so long as the group includes you, Akane. The deportation of you would be cause enough for an immigration office celebration that allowed 70 highly trained Deli Doctors, Dentists, and Superette owners into New Zealand. |

well originally Labour/Labour but I think probably Labour/Greens now.
I am in favour of MMP, as was mentioned earlier in the thread I think we have a slightly more representative government than the US does. |

My Last Vote:
National / Act My inteded vote: Labour / Green Wooo! Gogo the swing voter! I care little for tax. My major swing points are: 1) Keeping NZ's nuclear policy as it currently stands 2) Unbundling the local loop. If national state that they would defintly do that, then I would swing my vote, as long as 1) stays. Thats is. I (currently) don't care for eductaion. Students already get interest write offs, I don't understand why the system needs to change. The economy is running fine for me, so no need to change. I would like more spending on the defense force (please, can we have an air force again?) but that won't really swing my vote. Yay for leagalising prostitution. I don't care about the civil union bill, but good on them. I wan't more non-road public transport, and I don't see National doing that anytime soon.

Labour/Labour most probably. Mainly because of the student loan writeoffs, and I don't think they've screwed things that badly over the last couple of years.
Also I quite like Helen Clark as a politician, there doesn't really seem to be anyone else of the same calibre. I will never vote National, for the simple fact that I forsee NZ becoming another Australia, and I have no time for their foreign policy decisions. |

I'm really undecided, Centre right, Centre left, much of a muchness for me.
What I'm concerned about is the looming electricity crisis that we appear to be headed for, and if we aren't then the perception that we are. Politicians all seem to be offering their ideas on what we can't do, (no more coal, no nuclear, the RMA stands in the way of other options), but there are few who are offering any workable solutions. So we appear to be sticking heads in the sand and hoping 'she'll be right mate'. |
