So what about Mallard's game?
http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/politi...d-walk-away%27

When he got kicked out during Collins' questioning I thought he was being dopey, but maybe he's got something in mind? Making sure certain suggestions get into the media.

Or... he's a lowlife scumbag with a history of defaming people while hiding behind parliamentary privilege like a bitch?

Well, he is saying what many are thinking. It's got to be effective at shoring up that mentality.

Mallard likes to think of himself as some kind of "enforcer" or "attack dog" in the house.

Labour were hoping to give Collins "death by a 1000 cuts", but mallard comes in like a blunt axe... I think he fucked up, the day should be 100% about grilling Collins, but some focus has gone over to Mallard's behaviour

Opportunity lost.

I liked the way cunliffe came across on meet the leaders last night - genuine with a focus on improving peoples lives - but damn he needs to sort out that super nerdy dress sense haha

Winston has gone from appealing to super-annuitants with early-stage Alzheimers to actually being one.

Jesus.

Has Winston had a mini-stroke? He's slurring his words and the muscles on only one side of his face seem to be working. His left hand is trembling like a leaf - just watch when he holds a piece of paper.

What does it mean when the opposition hammers and hammers away at the government during question time and again in the media, but then slips in the polls?

That it's hammering on issues that the people being polled don't care about.

NZ First leader Winston Peters has blamed the flu, after he turned in a shambling performance in Parliament yesterday and MPs questioned his health.

The veteran politician, 69, displayed shaking hands and slurred speech as he attempted to catch out Prime Minister John Key with new allegations about Justice Minister Judith Collins.

His performance drew more attention than his self-hyped revelations about Collins.

Well actually "the opposition" (Lab-green) has gone up from 41.8 to 42.2 and National has gone down from 49.4 to 47.6 in that poll. And NZF 3.4? lol wut

That should probably be in this thread, but anyway...

It was almost 9 years ago that Don Brash was the National leader and he came very close to becoming Prime Minister. Instead, John Key would end up being PM in 2008 and is now looking likely to get a third term.

Just think. Don Brash or John Key. Just think what Brash could have brought the country versus what Key actually did bring the country.

Labour was only able to delay a National government by three years. Labour should be very glad that when National came to power, the country ended up with Key in charge instead of Brash.

But seriously, watered down Labour policies are all good but we really need some housing policy/intervention.

Didn't you hear? It's cause we've got a great economy. Obviously not great-great, because we still can't look after those who need it, but good enough that it's okay people can't afford their own homes.

Perhaps its a disparate group, without possible further clarification?
