Well, your warrant is not current which is obvious in the photo... I'm guessing there is more to this than what we see...

So your headlights were off and your wipers needed adjusting ?

And you were driving without a current WOF ?

Wouldn't that void any insurance you may have if you had an accident ?

sure, i failed my wof because my whipers weren't correct and my headlights were tilted slightly down so there was no danger for anyone on the streets.
Headlights/Whipers is the standard drill that my mechanic does everytime i do my wof there, even if they are correct and without any problems, just his way of taking more money... i delayed this because im broke at the moment and the cop that gave me this was a power tripping dumb ass... my car wasn't even close to be any 'danger' to anyone on the road... this was just pure evil.

Fuck, i got pulled up with my civic that didnt have a wof and the list that i had for repairs to get one was huge, and i didnt get a thing, this was just EVIL>.......!!

just uncalled for, thats all. he should have just given me a 200$ ticked and tell me to roll my car to my house down the road... not green sticker me like that. lame ass hoe.

zzzZZzzzZZz...

You were caught - that's what you are pissed off at.....

I say "Stiff shit". You had a WoF expire during a holiday period (maybe before) and you didn't get organised enough? Well now its going to cost you even more.....

I dont even know why you bothered to come whining here...... like no-one with half an ounce of common sense is going to give you any sympathy.

FFS get off you high horses , his warrent expired what 6 days ago? Cops usually give you a bit on leancey on warrents and rego's this guy was just being a prick

My Girlfriend got pull over in my car it was regged but the warrent expired 10 MONTHS ago and she just got a 200$ ticket and was allowed to keep driving.

To sticker the car was WAY over the top this cop just had a hard on and probally went back to the car and beat off while peper spraying himself. I can understand if your wheels where pointing inwards or you car was more rust then anything else but your wipers! what the fuck.

Quite obviously there is more wrong with the vehicle than what we have been told, it wouldn't have been ordered off the road otherwise.
Simply another case of someone giving half the story.

Your opinion on whether your car is safe to drive on a public road is irrelevant. All that matters is whether you can obtain a warrant for your vehicle. If you can't then your vehicle is not safe to be driven on a road.

A WOF demonstrates, at the time of issue, only the bear minimum level of safety a vehicle requires to be driven on a public road. Most people maintain their cars to a standard well beyond the minimum allowed. So, you'll be pretty much alone in your opinion that a vehicle that fails a warrant isn't a "danger" to anyone.

A warrant goes some way to ensuring the safety of other users of public roads. It is those people who want the police to do their very best to keep people like you off the roads they are using.

You seem to have difficulty understanding that you're not permitted to ever drive an unsafe vehicle on a road? While you are allowed to drive a vehicle to a testing station for the purpose of getting a warrant, that "excuse" isn't much use to you is it?

Your reasoning for why you should not have been issued an infringment notice is probably the most pathetic I've ever read on NZ Games.

First, if you believe the police officer was acting inappropraitely then lay an offical complaint against them. I can't imagine what grounds you could use though. You've supplied a photograph that shows your vehicle was being driven illegally and you've admitted that your vehicle has defects so severe that it failed the warrant test. You also stated that you don't have enough money to pay for the absolute minimum level of maintenance that you car needs to make it safe to drive. All that happened is that the police officer stopped you and issued you a ticket for infringments you freely admit to. You even admit to having done this before with a much less safe vehicle that you never bothered to fix. This sounds about as fair as it can get to me.

Secondly, if your garage really does keep failing your safe (in your opinion only?) vehicle, then take that up with the LTSA. What seems more likely to me is that you've had a problem with your headlights for a very long time and you still have not had them fixed - no doubt because, in your opinion, your vehicle is safe to drive.

Lets pretend for a minute that you're a real bone-head (actually, I can imagine this quite vividly). Your next step should be to contest the infringment notice in court. Be sure to come back and tell us how this plays out. If you let me know what time you're up then I'll come and provide vocal support (for the police officer).

As for twenty minutes of your time being taken up. What better use of the police officer's time could there have been? Society pays for police officers speficially so that they can catch scum (and yes I do think "scum" is the right word) like you.

Do you really think that the scum-bag driver of that vehicle has told you the truth about the condition of their vehicle?

Why do you doubt the integrity of the police to have correctly identified a vehicle that is completely unsafe to be driven on a road?

I mostly agree with what GT said (a first), but I think police time can be better spent, by catching real criminals (robbers, murderers, etc). Sure, com was in the wrong and the ticket was probably deserved, but it's what I think of as "soft policing". Instead of getting out there and catching serious offenders, they're doing this. No, it's not a waste of police time, but there are bigger (and more important/worse) fish to fry.

com, get your car sorted before you come whining to us that you can't keep your car in a driveable/safe condition and someone catches you for it.

You think you are hard done by because you got away with it last time. If you had be dragged from your car, beaten and pepper sprayed you'd be writing a REAL thankyou letter the the officer this time.

While I do admire you all standing on the high moral ground waving your fingers.

Have you never dealt with a cop that has been an asshole for no reason? I’ve been arrested ( and arm bared / punched / kicked ) a couple of times for doing NOTHING but standing somewhere. Some cops get off on their power or they are having a bad day. While I can understand it's a shitter of a job the reason that they are entrusted with the power is that they will act responsibly with that.

If that was all that’s wrong with his car , you must agree that for a young guy a 200$ fine is punishment enough. There was no need to sticker the car.

Also calling someone skum because they drove without a warrent is a bit excessive. Skum are the assholes that break into your car , rob your house , beat up your brother and rape your sister.

com: What other crap do you waste your money on that you could put towards fixing up your car to avoid getting large fines?

wouldn't it be more economical to get the car fixed than to keep risking being "harrassed" by the police and having to paying fines?

(Why is it that I've never been harrassed by a cop? - could it be that my car has a rego and warrent and is safe to drive on the road?)

I always figure if you know that you can get fined for something ..and you end up getting a fine, then you should be of the mindset "ahh well, i knew I could get a fine for that" and pay it
(I'm talking of less serious infringements such as staying in a carpark after the meter has run out)

Your white , middle class , live in a nice neighbourhood , drive a standered run of the mill car & you dont do anything stupid while your driving. Having a warrent and rego has nothing to do with getting pulled over a cop cant see that you have no rego as he drives past it's based soley on how you look.

Com is probally a bit of a boyracer and the cops have a hard on for them at the moment. While I feel for you doode suck it in a pay the fine , and get your car fixed so next time you are pulled over you can give them a wink and a smile and drive off.

a friend from work got arrested and thrown to jail overnight for "fighting" when he was buying a pie at citystop. he was not fighting, nor was he yelling or even "standing around".
then he was ordered to appear in court, which means some more time in the cell beforehand.
they were going to give him 200 hours community service or some such, i don't know. He went to citystop and got the video tape of their security camera.
the charges were dropped.

so that incident made me believe that cops aren't always looking out for the best interests of the public or even doing their job properly.

like some comedian on tv said "cops don't catch criminals, they catch innocent people because they don't run and are more complacent - innocent people are easier to catch"

Your car can be perfectally legal and registered, but the cops can still pull you over for no reason whatsoever than to exert their authority over you.

As one Pacific Islander at my Dad's work once said: "Heaven forbid that you're an Islander with a performance car."

Nope, his warrant expired in the month that ended 6 days ago. It may well have expired on 1st Dec 2002 in which case that car has been driving around for a shitload more time without a warrant.

End of the day, if you do something that contravenes the law of the nation, and you get caught, and you post it on NZGames, and you expect the NZGames community to jump to your aid and agree that ...fucken pig bastards cock-suckers arseholes pig cocks wankers victimized pig dicks shit-heads...I'm innocent! - you are sadly mistaken as has been seen in this and many other similar posts about The pigs.

Think about this as well. . . if you were at home, watching TV with your partner and/or child and you heard a noise from the other end of the house and upon careful investigation, somebody was trying to break into your house, who would be your best friend? You know, the one you'd ring right away and tell them of your exciting news?

No!? Really?! A pig? Why would you do that? They're ...fucken pig bastards cock-suckers arseholes pig cocks wankers victimized pig dicks shit-headsdon't ya know?
