What *would* you do for a living?

In the same tradition as "who's the ugliest person in the world" and "who's the hottest person in the world" threads, comes the sequel to this thread

What would you do for a living, having the knowledge you have now from your current job?

Waldo 26th July 2005 10:48

nothing

Snake 26th July 2005 10:52

My current job doesn't give me the skills to do what I WOULD be doing (which is also, coincidentally, what I PLAN to be doing).

I'm going to become a life coach.

My job as sysadmin doesn't help me do that, it's everything else I've been doing outside of IT over the years that has helped me move forward with life coaching.

I'm pretty much with you on the "Nothing" front.

There's nothing quite like IT to rekindle ones hatred of humanity.

StN 26th July 2005 10:58

I would have my own business, and surround myself with scantily clad hot chicks, and make the corporate uniform something along the lines of a Princess Leia Gold Bra outfit, and the business would do stuff, that people wanted, so they'd give us money.

Hmm - maybe I'd be a pimp?

Jamiepo 26th July 2005 11:01

I would really love to own custom car/bike shop, something along the lines of westcoast choppers. That would be the shit.

nostrom0 26th July 2005 11:02

Did every guy want to be a playboy photographer when they got older or was that just me?

Pimp-X 26th July 2005 11:13

I'd drive a Pisten Bully, spend a lot of time riding and drinking.

[Malks] Pixie 26th July 2005 11:17

Musician - and I already do that, but it would nice to be able to just play and not have to worry about earning money...

Pixie

Limit 26th July 2005 11:20

I'd be a writer.

Wife would go out and work, I'd look after the kids and write epic novels... mostly about random sexual adventures.

Seriously though, I'd write.
:D

A wise man once said to me, 'I didn't get into IT to deal with people'

As to the question, two words. American Chopper.

fobski 26th July 2005 11:27

I would be a farmer

OY636 26th July 2005 11:33

Minor eastern european royalty

a small living allowance (so could stop working when I didn't want to) a tittle to get into the swanky parties. And no gives a damn who the hell you are. So could play WoW and have my own personal lab for genetic modification. Island of Dr Morue (sp) here I come

chiquelet 26th July 2005 11:36

I wouldn't have spent five years and over 20k of my father's money by going to university.

I would have done a beauty therapist course (or whatever the hell they're called) and I'd be working in one of the duty free cosmetic counters in one of the world's biggest international airports (I really like airports).

I mean, I love history, and I've loved studying. But I've only realised this year that I don't want to work in an office, and I don't want to become an historian.

Snake, you want to be a life coach, help me!

You'd buy parts out of a catalog and abuse other people putting them together?

Enchantress 26th July 2005 11:48

juandem@rco 26th July 2005 11:50

Yes, don't forget the drinking of the beer.

yaksman 26th July 2005 11:57

In no particular order:

* Army
* Pilot
* Carbon Fiber Fabricationist
* Automotive Engineer
* Mechanic
* Builder
* Police

I'm very much a hands on person. It's just a fact that I did well in skool that I am where I am. I have plans to get out... *looks sideways*

Artist

I spend my days wallowing in paint, pastel, and turps creating masterpieces and I'd be the new Rennaisance for the art world

Wait, wait, wait.

You were derisive of someone else using their parents as guarantors for a house in another thread because they weren't working & paying for it themselves...while your dad is paying for your uni fees?

I might just take you up on that. I have seriously lost direction and speaking to somebody impartial sounds very appealing. Thanks :)
