A friend of mine was recently arrested in Paris on her way back to NYC because she was in possession of a WW2 gas mask she'd bought in Berlin. The charge was possessing a weapon of mass destruction. She was handcuffed, marched through the airport and interrogated for 10 hours then released (sans mask) and sent on her way :/.

Just because a weapon is designed to destroy some kind of mass doesn't mean it has to be large or devastating.
