First it was cheap dvd players, now its digital cameras for $30!

Ok so they're .1 megapixel...sue me.

Sgt Seb 26th October 2004 01:23

Hmm lol...is 1 megapixel the same as what the first mobile phones with cameras came with?

Madoka 26th October 2004 02:49

No way. AFAIK 1mp phones are pretty recent and considered top of line (in NZ at least) eg gx30, 7610..

At a guess. In simple terms, they have a final image resolution of around about 320x240.
320x240/1m = 0.07.

VERT 26th October 2004 12:05

what do they use as storage?

fidgit 26th October 2004 13:33

almost certainly 16 megs of flash ram

MoP 26th October 2004 13:35

Storage? Haha.. for $30 you think you'll get storage??? bwahahahaa

OK. You'll be hearing from my lawyer.

Peterlplp 26th October 2004 14:06

16 megs would be pretty good for a $30 cam considering you get the same from $699 sonys (DSCL1S).

Anyone buy it yet? How are the pics?
I'd like a cheap semi-disposable cam to live in my backpack for ufo sightings.

VERT 26th October 2004 16:16

you could store a hit load of .1 megapixel photos on 16mb

StN 26th October 2004 19:24

Milk... eggs... toast bread... toothpaste... Oh Sh!t - I need a new electric ceiling fan! WTF am I gonna do?? - Oh - right next to the 0.1M pixel cameras, sweet.

It would certainly be stylistically in keeping with ufo photography.

...pixelated blurry shot of frisbeeOMG UFOMMORPG

Matt0r 26th October 2004 20:32

someone must buy it, and take pics... or there could be doubt in some peoples mind of the event actually taking place.

Madoka 26th October 2004 22:05

going to check out my countdown now, brb, post after test!

quality is on par with your average webcam I think
it hass builtin 16 sdram, if you take your battery out, your photos will be gone.

Lylmik 26th October 2004 23:30

Those pictures are actually a lot better than I was expecting.
But then you can get 1 Megapixel cameras for $100 and 3 megapixel cameras for $200.

Meh.

Madoka 26th October 2004 23:54

well I don't really need a megapixel or 2 cameras since I already have a dslr,.. just bought this one for pocket use,.. and it's really really small, think of the size of a little bigger than your cf card:)
can take 60 pictures in compressed mode, 20 in non compressed mode, can take videos, selftimer mode, continuous shot... etc etc
not bad for $24.95 :p

A Corpse 27th October 2004 00:03

Show us how big it is! Take a picture of it with it! :D

And using a mirror is cheating. :)

Madoka 27th October 2004 01:07

hmm how do i do that

xin 27th October 2004 02:00

Buy another.

Spink 27th October 2004 02:03

this is perfect for random desk/room/sudden home invasion pictures without having to buy a proper expensive camera or a camera phone. Is this at all countdowns? Is there a countdown in wellington cbd? :o

Jville is the closest. With its wonderfully stupid staff, and retarded managers.

What is their sensitivity to light like? the $25 Cameraphone Clip on thingie I baught off trademe for my T68i needs to have the room floodlit to get a semi-decent picture :( .

P-Money 27th October 2004 12:57

They sell them on an informerical for $129.00
"The Breezecam"
*snigger*

Madoka 27th October 2004 14:47

hmm light sensitivity is acceptable in day light at this price, I gotta shoot some in night time to test.
